Today I was at Publix and I turned onto the chip isle and my jaw dropped. I have been wishing someone would come out with microwave caramel popcorn again, sort of like I wish Kool-Aid will make Kickin Kiwi-Lime Flavor again. You don't understand every couple weeks I check Ebay to see if anyone has any old boxes they found in the back of a kitchen cabinet. It was so good when I was little I sometimes think of conspiracies as to why they would discontinued it. But today was my lucky day, it was even on sale.
I bought 6 boxes
My Friend Michelle celebrated her birthday Saturday by going to La Nopalera.
After that we went to Austin's Karaoke. It's $5 a hour per person, has a very limited number of songs. The plus is it's BYOB. This is the first time I ever sang karaoke or sang into a microphone since I was 6 in church.
My friend/old roommate Sharon came in town from DC, a few of us went to The Loop.
We also meet up for breakfast at The Original Pancake House.
The food was awful, I couldn't eat it.
Last week I helped my future father-in-law put in some crown molding, meet this guy.
Saturday night I went out to the beach to my friend Matt's going away, he's moving to NYC.
He has a cool bathroom it looks like it should be part of a old ship.
We walked to Pete's Bar. Adam and Scott, catching up on there beach history. In 1969 Jax Beach held its first Mr Muscle Beach Contest called The First Annual Gun Show. This is the first recorded history in Jax Beach were the expression "The beach is that way" was used. (just kidding not actual fact)
When is the last time you seen one of these? Every time I see one I think it's either a joke or I just don't get how it works because to me it seems like the first four people get lucky and everyone else is using thier old napkin.
Saturday I decided to take Rory to the library for a Russian tea party. We didn't have a car so we walked 13 blocks.
We walked past the Springfield Community Garden, looks like it needs some work.
So today my duties as a father was to pick Rory up from the YMCA by 2PM and be at Jenny's work by 2:15. Rory has orientation at her school at 2:30. I pick Rory up and we are right on schedule. We are driving to Jenny's work going over the University overpass and I see this guy hobbling in a wheelchair, unable to get up the overpass. He has his wheelchair in one hand, holding on to the railing with the other and looks so worn out like he wants to give up. My first thought is to put the car in park and push the guy over the hill. Just then the light ahead turns green. For some reason I grabbed my camera and snapped two shots. (I drive with it next to me just incase I see something amazing, I didn't know what else to do) I didn't like that I was headed away from this situation. I say to my daughter OMG if I don't do something its going to ruin my life". My daughter says "That is so sad, he needs help". I say, "We have to stop, but were going to be late". Rory says, "Someone has to help him, I want to help him". I say, "So do I, what am i suppose to do, Jenny will be upset if were late. This will take at least 10 minutes." I decided I'm going to pull over and realize and I can't leave Rory in the car and I don't want her with me out around traffic. By this time we get threw the light. All these thoughts are going through our heads, we're talking it out between each other. Next thing we know were on the interstate, we can't go back now. This all happened in less then a minute. I feel so bad, I didn't know what to do. My only option is to always make a point to leave the house early.
This picture is going in my wallet to remind me to stop living life by deadlines and to try to be early just incase of a emergency.
I had planned on staying home and trying to win the new Shepard Fairey print but Big Dunn called me and asked me to bring up my palette I use to print posters on up to Burro so he can print bandanas.
I decided to start cutting out sheets of stickers so I can print stickers, of what graphic I don't know yet.
Went to Five Points Coffee and Spice and got a Iced Coffee. It tasted like Iced Coffee, probably should have gotten something else but did want anything hot.
Went next door to I believe it's called the Sake House.
I didn't get all radical and just got the California Roll and the Shrimp Tempura. The California Roll was better the the Shrimp Tempera next time I'll try something I never heard of.
A good friend of mine just gave me some sticker paper 3 rolls one of them is clear. I have ideas.
For the past year I've been telling myself I was going to get back into running and try to eat less. This has been my breakfast for the past two day. It probably isn't great but it's better then the bacon, eggs, and bisquits and gravy I would make every day.
I also rode my bike from Springfield to the Arts Market, ran the end of the North Bank and back, then rode my bike back to Springfield. Took about a hour and a half.
My friend Mark called me to meet up with him and a few other people. For the past few months he has been working on fixing up unit 15 in the school house lofts in Springfield. They want to have a show in november and wants Tommy Armageddon and Matt Abercrombie in it so they were asking are opinions about it.
I got to meet this guy.
He has a snaggle tooth.
We also played with dry ice.
Everytime I go to someone's house for Thanksgiving I end up eating more green bean casserole then anything else. I like it more then the turkey. I don't know what is is about green bean casserole but it has perfect combination of flavors that satisfy everything about what a spoonful of food is suppose to taste like. Two days ago I decided to learn to make my own. Honestly, because I couldn't wait 3 more months till november. I decided to make the normal Campbell's Soup recipe. It was good but I accidently instead of putting Cream of Mushroom plain, I put the Cream of Mushroom with Roasted Garlic, it was good but the garlic flavor was to strong. Next time I'm going to make it the same but with regular Cream of Mushroom and try to add stovetop stuffing to the recipe.
This is Clyde, of course there were birthday shots.
Jack just learned about the Iphone Bump and got a guys phone number.
Clyde went looking for some ingredients and Big Dunn couldn't help seeing something cooking without trying to help.
It was missing Tobasco sauce.
If you ever have a barbecue John O'Brian is a good person to have on the grill.
Rachel was the hostess and a very good one, there was plenty of food and drink.
Beyond me why someone would make a lamp of a monkey in a suit holding candles.
